Taught by Jennifer Pierotti, Yoga Therapist, who offers integrative care that supports drug and alcohol recovery. She began teaching yoga in 2009, and holds a Master’s of Science in Yoga Therapy with top-level credentials, including C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, and YACEP. Since 2012, Pierotti has designed and implemented yoga and yoga therapy programs, assisting in addiction recovery at Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities.
The techniques Pierotti utilizes also regulate the nervous system, allowing substance abuse users to end the cycle of extreme volleying between states of stress and reward. Her programs help participants achieve balance, build self-discipline, release tensions and aggressions, and develop new methods and perspectives to work through life’s challenges.
As our Yoga Therapists states, “The most rewarding part of my workday is watching the positive change in all my clients within the first few minutes of the session. While I may be guiding, the change happens from the client’s work and efforts. Helping individuals find their self-empowerment and change their state is why I offer yoga therapy. In the future, I would like to offer individual sessions and group sessions to further aid clients in understanding how to overcome health challenges, both physically and mentally.”
