Our Nonprofit Organization Vegas Stronger™ is committed to equal opportunity employment and treatment, including a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all clients, staff, volunteers, and board members feel respected and valued regardless of gender, age, race, religion, color, creed, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, education, sizes, or any other bias or protected class.
We are dedicated to being nondiscriminatory and providing equal opportunities for employment, volunteering, and advancement in all areas of our work, along with acceptance of all potential clients who seek our rehab services.
Vegas Stronger™ appreciates the value that diverse life experiences add to our work environment, and we strive to listen to all views and give them value. We’re committed to modeling diversity, equality, and inclusion while maintaining fair and equal treatment for all.
Our Nonprofit’s philosophy on our goals to provide informed leadership for diversity, inclusion, and equity include the following below:
We will strive to seek diversity, inclusion, and equity in connection with our vision and mission for the benefit of those we serve; to end homelessness and combat addiction.
We aim to recognize and address inequities in our policies, programs, and services, and evolve as needed.
We pledge to investigate underlying assumptions that interfere with our diversity policy, while committing to advocating for systemic inequities that impact our work.
We are committed to challenging commonly accepted notions about what constitutes strong leadership within our organization, while being transparent about diversity in all our interactions.
We will dedicate our time and resources to expanding greater diversity within our board, leadership, and all other positions.
We are dedicated to leading with respect and tolerance and we encourage all employees and volunteers to express this in their work within Vegas Stronger™.
We recognize that quality drug and alcohol treatment is not available equally in the US. “Of all forms of discrimination and inequalities, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman,” stated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The current insurance vehicles prevent and limit many of our most vulnerable from accessing quality substance use disorder treatment. People of Color are found to have longer wait times to access treatment and shorter durations of treatment. Duration of treatment is the primary determinant of successful outcomes.
