We're back! This holiday season, we’re shining a light on the heart of Vegas Stronger and the work we’re doing to support our community in providing treatment for substance use and mental health challenges. Every day from now until Christmas we're highlighting some of our Essential Services (plus some!) that we use in order to successfully aid those who walk through our doors in their recovery from addiction and out of homelessness. To make things even more joyful, we're sharing videos of alumni and staff who have been positively impacted by these elements! Enjoy their firsthand stories of joy and success!
Day 1 started us off with Transportation!
Transportation is a vital part of our mission — without it, many of our clients wouldn’t be able to access the consistent treatment they need to stay sober, find stable housing, and build healthy relationships with themselves and others. 🚗💚 Not only do we have a transportation but to support our clients, but we are regularly supported by RTC to provide clients with bus passes for when they need additional transportation outside of working times. Transportation can make all of the difference when it comes to medical needs, mental health needs, safety needs, and just general needs like grocery shopping, employment, and more! Your donation can make a direct impact by ensuring that every client who needs transportation gets it — no questions asked.
Day 2: Giving Back
Alex Cortes shares his perspective of giving back and being of service to others which helps him in his recovery! Listen as our Vegas Stronger Outreach Specialist shares how when breaking bad habits, it is vital to replace them with positive and healthy new ones, that will have a lasting impact on one’s overall well-being and state of mind. Being of service to others helps us stay accountable, stay happy, and help others!
Day 3: Counseling & Psychiatric Services
At Vegas Stronger, therapy is a core part of the healing journey. Thanks to dedicated clinicians like Mary, we’re able to offer both individual and group therapy sessions that cater to each client’s unique needs. This holiday season, we ask for your help in continuing to offer this crucial support. Your donation ensures that those struggling with substance use and mental health challenges can access the care they deserve, no matter their financial situation. We cater to each client’s individualized needs, as what works for one does not work for all. We have leading therapists and counselors who tailor each client’s recovery program to their experiences and history.
Day 4: Recovery Meetings
At Vegas Stronger, we believe in the power of support, especially during treatment. That’s why we put a HUGE emphasis on recovery meetings—both during your time in the program and long after. These meetings are a lifeline when times get tough, offering community, guidance, and hope. Blaise, one of our dedicated clinicians, believes in the critical role these meetings play in our clients’ journeys. He explains how they help provide stability and set the foundation for long-term recovery. Day 5: Fitness and Nutrition
At Vegas Stronger, we know that a healthy body leads to a healthier mind. Studies show that consistent exercise and good nutrition can significantly improve mental health, which is why we focus on BOTH physical and emotional wellness for our clients. From daily fitness classes to personalized nutrition support, Gina helps to equip clients with the tools they need to thrive—long after they graduate our program. 🌱 Your donation today helps us continue offering these life-changing resources! Together, we can empower more individuals to make healthier choices and stay clean and sober. Physical fitness has been proven to help in all aspects of one's physical and mental wellbeing. We offer pro fitness classes taught by a former professional athlete, along with personalized one-on-one sessions and yoga multiple times per week. We must address the issue as a whole, starting with basic physical exercise & nutrition. When using and abusing we are DEPLETING our serotonin & dopamine and we all need to learn healthy ways to replace them.
Day 6: Spirituality
Spirituality is a powerful tool that helps ground our clients during their most difficult moments. It provides them with perspective, healing, and strengthens their connections to themselves and others. Understanding that there is something larger than you is an important part of recovery. Everyone believes something different, and what matters is that you feel the connection.
Day 7: Case Management
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on our incredible Case Management team. These dedicated professionals work HANDS-ON with every client, ensuring they have access to the resources they need. But their work doesn't stop there – they collaborate with our clinicians, doctors, outreach team, and peer support specialists to ensure no one is left behind, and everyone gets the care they deserve. Our case management team works alongside our community partners and links our clients to housing, jobs, social services, and additional resources here in Las Vegas.
