Starting this month we want to recognize the Vegas Stronger staff members that make our organization what it is! We are beyond lucky to have such a fantastic team of people who not only know what they’re doing, but care about the individuals they work with!
January’s Vegas Stronger Star is Kandi Orozco! Kandi heads up our Prior Authorization Department, the department that deals with all of the insurance companies and their love of denials for covering treatment! She works hard to insure that clients are authorized for the treatment they need and is adept at navigating the maze that insurance companies construct. She is an advocate for clients and has worked at many facilities where she continuously prioritizes people first. She’s also a big fan of the Raiders and the Dodgers! Thank you, Kandi!
Kandi Orozco brings more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health and human services, with a strong background in utilization review, admissions, and program operations. She has held leadership roles across multiple levels of care, where she was often brought in to strengthen systems, improve workflows, and support teams through periods of growth or change.
Throughout her career, Kandi has focused on improving access to care by reducing authorization barriers, strengthening documentation practices, and navigating complex payer requirements. Her work has helped programs operate more efficiently while ensuring clients receive the appropriate level of care in a timely and ethical manner.
At Vegas Stronger, Kandi oversees authorizations, continued stays, and appeals, and provides leadership to a small utilization management team. She is committed to clear communication, consistency, and advocacy—both for the clients served and the staff supporting them. Kandi approaches her work with a practical, solutions-driven mindset and a deep understanding of how systems impact real people.
