Lance Griffin works in our Bicycle Ministry, and volunteers his time restoring donated bikes and gear for our clients. Our bicycle enthusiast was born and raised here in Las Vegas, and states, “I’m what people call a desert rat. I grew up racing bikes, motorcycles and golfing. This is the greatest city in the world because we are still a tight knit community.”
Griffin decided to get sober himself and help other people, after the death of his brother in 2018, due to alcoholism and addiction. Our bike volunteer adds, “My proudest achievement is watching someone participate in their own recovery and get back in
the stream of life. To have a front row seat to the miracle that happens when people start to recover is amazing. Giving and teaching others about bicycles is just part of the fun of working here.”
Griffin’s long term goal is to get more people biking as a means of transportation, and to show by example, how one can work on their own bicycle, so not as many end up in landfills. Our Bicycle Ministry Volunteer describes, “Vegas Stronger creates HOPE for the hopeless and when there is HOPE anything is possible. I want to show people a better way of living through a God-centered life and pedaling.”
